Between August 1930 and March 1940, 29 of the 30 cars were rebuilt to 3 different configurations. 1 of these configurations was to Plan #3411, with 10 sections and 3 double bedrooms (10S-3DB), 8 cars were rebuilt to Plan #3411 between August 1930 and April 1932, including the RAVENSWORTH, which was rebuilt to Plan #3411 and renamed WILLIAM DAVIDSON in April 1932 (the 2nd of 3 cars to carry that name). Ted Brumberg General These 4 cars remained in Pullman ownership after the 12/31/1948 divestiture, and in 1961, 3 of the 4 cars, including the BLUEFIELD, were sold to L&N for conversion to baggage-dormitories, which were then leased to the Atomic Energy Commission for transport of materials. L&N acquired a 4th Plan #3411 car, the VILLA CHEER, for conversion; as baggage-dormitories, these 4 cars were numbered #1650-#1653. 2 of the 4 cars, #1652 and #1653, were later acquired by the West Florida RR Museum in Milton, the #1653 (the VILLA CHEER) has since been scrapped. I do not have any further disposition information for either the #1650 or #1651. For more info, see Robert J. Wayner's "The Complete Roster of Heavyweight Pullman Cars" and Tom Madden's Pullman Project car construction record (CCR) database: http://pullmanproject.com/Database.htm 9/26/2014 8:13:47 PM
